Shield & Rebuild's current specialist capability is electronic security and security upgrades, including CCTV, alarm and access-control systems and related security solutions.

For eligible referred clients in Queensland, Shield & Rebuild may consider arranging and/or funding appropriate electronic-security or security-upgrade support. Each request is assessed individually. Assistance depends on eligibility, individual need, provider availability and available funding.

Information, current capability and developing pathways

Clear information at every step

These pathways are described separately so people and referring organisations can see what Shield & Rebuild currently considers, what information is available publicly, and where external-provider support may be explored.

General home-security information

People affected by crime can use Shield & Rebuild's public information to consider practical questions about access points, lighting, keys, entry damage and other manageable home-safety steps. This information is general and does not replace emergency services, police advice, insurer advice or an individual assessment.

Digital-safety information

Shield & Rebuild provides safety-first public information about cybercrime, online safety and technology concerns. These resources explain relevant Australian reporting and support pathways, including ReportCyber and the eSafety Commissioner. They do not promise direct digital-security assistance.

Broader practical support pathways

Shield & Rebuild is building relationships with appropriately qualified external providers for broader practical support as organisational capacity, provider relationships and funding grow. Where other work is required, appropriately qualified external providers may be engaged if support is approved and available.

Where appropriate, broader practical needs may include electrical or lighting work, building or physical-security work such as security doors. Any such work would require appropriately qualified external providers and would depend on the individual assessment, provider availability and available funding.

Shield & Rebuild does not state that it directly provides electrical work or building work.

Counselling and psychological support

Counselling and psychological services are not directly provided by Shield & Rebuild. For eligible referred clients in Queensland, Shield & Rebuild may seek to facilitate or fund counselling or psychological support through appropriately qualified external providers.

This depends on individual assessment, provider availability and available funding. It does not guarantee that a particular provider, service or outcome will be available.

How referrals work

A clear, considered process

Shield & Rebuild does not accept self-referrals. Referrals may be made only by authorised representatives of recognised charities, police and government bodies for eligible clients in Queensland.

  1. 1

    Referral

An authorised representative reviews the Client Assistance Form and submits only the information needed for an initial assessment.

  2. 2

    Individual assessment

Shield & Rebuild considers eligibility, individual need, practical circumstances, provider availability and available funding.

  3. 3

    Assistance considered

Where appropriate, electronic-security or security-upgrade support, or a relevant external support pathway, may be considered.

  4. 4

Appropriate support arranged if approved and available

If assistance is approved and available, Shield & Rebuild may arrange or fund suitable support based on the individual assessment and available options.

Important: A referral does not guarantee assistance, funding, a service or a particular outcome.

Questions for referring organisations
