About Shield & Rebuild
Helping victims of crime in Queensland rebuild safety.
Shield & Rebuild is an Australian charity founded by Travis Cassuscelli to help bridge the practical gap that can remain after serious crime. Travis has more than 20 years of experience in the security industry.
Current capability and Queensland service area
Shield & Rebuild's current specialist capability is electronic security and security upgrades, including CCTV, alarm and access-control systems and related security solutions. Direct assistance is currently considered for eligible referred clients in Queensland. Assistance is assessed individually and depends on eligibility, individual need, provider availability and available funding.
External providers and counselling support
Shield & Rebuild is building relationships with appropriately qualified external providers for broader assistance. Counselling and psychological services are not directly provided by Shield & Rebuild. For eligible referred clients in Queensland, the charity may seek to facilitate or fund counselling or psychological support through appropriately qualified external providers.
Referral safeguards
Shield & Rebuild does not accept self-referrals. Client referrals may be made only by authorised representatives of recognised charities, police and government bodies. A referral does not guarantee assistance, funding, a service or a particular outcome.
Growing carefully and constructive advocacy
Shield & Rebuild intends to expand into other Australian states and territories as provider relationships, funding and organisational capacity grow. Its public resources may be useful nationally, but direct assistance is not currently available outside Queensland.
Shield & Rebuild also seeks to give victims of crime a stronger voice by raising awareness of practical gaps in victim support and engaging constructively, and on a non-partisan basis, with governments, elected representatives and other organisations about potential improvements to victim-support systems, laws and policies.
